Habitat for Humanity Opportunities

Joy Reigns’ Service Ministry is growing in 2011.  Come be a part of the JOY we’re bringing to others in the name of Jesus Christ.

Not a member of Joy Reigns?  No problem!  We often have friends and family join us in our service ministry.  Just contact us and we’ll get you signed up for the event.

Habitat of the Chesapeake

Over the past several years Joy Reigns Lutheran Church members and friends have become increasing involved in Habitat for Humanity. We hope to raise $1000 to support this important outreach ministry in 2011. Many of our funds are matched by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans which is important for us. This past year we raised both funds within our own congregation and did a Praise Team Benefit on the docks of Annapolis to benefit this important ministry. We have helped build houses in Brooklyn, Freetown and Shadyside and look forward to a new fall project in Annapolis. Summer Mission Trip

A group of youth and adults will be leaving on a Mission Trip to do a Work Camp in Appalachia. We will work with Scott's Run Settlement House in Osage, Virginia, a mining community. Youth must be going into 7th grade to participate. In the past, we have made an incredible impact in family's lives and we have seen what a difference we can make when we give of ourselves. Please consider going for a week or even for 3 days! Osage is west of Deep Creek Lake, near Morgantown.

Youth Service Opportunities

Joy Reigns’ youth would love to serve meals to those in need and read stories to children in the hospital.  If you’d like to help lead our youth in these and other service opportunities, please contact Pastor Nicki.
